21st century electrophony

Low Hum is the constant subtle noise made by our 21st century electronic devices. These noises often remain below our threshold of perception but if you listen close enough you will hear them. They're in your home, office, car, pocket.

I created an "instrument" to play with these sounds that were recorded using a handmade "electromagnetic" microphone. I recorded my phone, apple tv remote, tv remote, echo, laptop, router. I programmed the device such that different positions of the hands would recall different instances of the sounds. Additionally slight variations of motion in different axis alter the sounds’ filters in rhythmic ways.
